Eradicating Poverty Begins with Education: Bluestar’s Scholarship Program in Gulang Yields Remarkable Results

In 2025 autumn, another group of outstanding students completed their three high school education, supported by the Bluestar “Sinochem Bluestar High School Self-Improvement Class” project (hereinafter referred to as Self-Improvement Class). Under the sponsorship of Bluestar, students from the self-Improvement Class who took the 2025 National College Enterance Examination achieved an impressive 98% undergraduate admission rate.

Since launched in 2013 in Gulang County, Gansu Province, the Bluestar Self-Improvement Class program provides long-term support for 50 academically outstanding but financially disadvantaged students in each cohort, covering all three years of high school. Bluestar had 10 cohorts of Self-Improvement Class, disbursing nearly 3 million RMB to 500 students. As of today, eight cohorts, about400 students, successfully completed high school study and all gained admission to higher education institutions. Of these, 9 students scored above 600 points, 39 were admitted to 985 Project universities (9.75%), 73 to 211 Project universities (18.25%), 392 to undergraduate programs (98%), and 8 to vocational colleges.

In 2025, Bluestar and Sinochem Holdings’ Beijing Xinnuo Public Welfare Foundation established the “China Bluestar Education Charity Trust,” creating an innovative “finance + philanthropy” model. Through more professionalized management, this initiative ensures that charitable resources are used efficiently and transparently, further promoting educational equity and talent development. Many beneficiaries, after completing their education, chose to give back to society through concrete actions, continued the cycle of kindness, and gradually became pillars of social and economic development.
