
The 2025 Science and Technology Awards of Sinochem Holdings and Bluestar were officially announced recently. A number of technological innovation projects across the industrial chains of silicones and animal nutrition received accolades. The achievements highlighted Bluestar’s solid foundation and strong momentum in scientific and technological innovation, and further improved the high-quality development of the company’s key industrial chains.
At the 2025 Sinochem Holdings Science and Technology Awards, Bluestar’s affiliated enterprises delivered outstanding results again, with five projects receiving awards. Among rewarded projects, “Research and Development of a Silicone Coating for Anti-rollover Airbags,” jointly developed by Elkem Silicones Shanghai and Elkem Silicones USA, won the third place for Technological Invention Award. “Development of a New Low-cyclic, High-viscosity Methyl Silicone Oil H47” by Elkem Xinghuo Silicones received the second place for Scientific and Technological Progress Award. “Development and Industrialization of Silicone Rubber for High-voltage Cables in New Energy Electric Vehicles”, which jointly developed by Elkem Silicones Shanghai, Elkem Silicones France, and Elkem Xinghuo Silicones, was awarded the third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award. “Technology Upgrade of Liquid Methionine and the Development and Industrialization of a Precision Nutrition Application System”, which jointly developed by Nanjing Adisseo and Adisseo Life Sciences, got the third place for Scientific and Technological Progress Award. In addition, “Preparation Method for Amino Silicone Oil with Low Cyclic Silicone Content” by Elkem Xinghuo Silicones won the Patent Excellence Award.

For the 2025 Bluestar Science and Technology Awards, a total of six Science and Technology Awards (one First Prize, two Second Prizes, and three Third Prizes) and five Youth Team Awards were conferred, which recognized 86 scientific and technological professionals from multiple companies, such as Elkem and Adisseo. Both the scale of project submissions and the quality of achievements reached record highs. Among awarded projects, “Silicones Recycling” by Elkem Silicones France won the first prize for Science and Technology Award. Both “Research, Development and Application of Medical Drug-Loadable Silicone Gels” by Elkem Silicones Shanghai and “Development of New Aquafeed Additives and Evaluation Technologies” by Adisseo China reached the second places. The third prizes were awarded to “Development and Industrialization of Green and High-efficiency Multi-functional Finishing Agent of Water-based Silicone Emulsion” and “Exploratory Development of Solvent-based High-residue Release Agent” by Elkem Silicones Shanghai, and “DENIS” project by Adisseo France.

In 2025, the Youth Team Science and Technology Award was first set. Five projects stood out, which fully demonstrating the innovative vitality and technical breakthrough potential of young R&D teams. Among awarded projects, “Protein Engineering Modification and Development of Novel Heat-resistant Feed Xylanase Molecules” collaboratively undertaken by Adisseo and Beijing University of Chemical Technology achieved industry-leading results in the field of heat-resistant xylanase, highlighting the advantages of the innovation integration between home and abroad.
Bluestar Science and Technology Awards have been successfully held for five consecutive editions since 2021, attracting enthusiastic participation from domestic and overseas enterprises. This year’s program drew 25 competing projects, with innovation levels and industry impact continuing to rise.
These achievements not only reflected the dedicated efforts and breakthroughs of Bluestar’s scientific and technological professionals, but also demonstrated Bluestar’s long-term commitment to innovation and the promotion of the spirit of scientific excellence. Looking ahead, Bluestar will continue to uphold the principle, “technological innovation is the only choice and the top priority for the company’s high-quality development”. This principle will further improve the tiered incentive system, “Sinochem Holdings Science and Technology Awards – Bluestar Science and Technology Awards – Bluestar Youth Team Awards”.
